About Dr Bill Dean
Dr Bill Dean is a physician/surgeon who retired from his private practice of urology in 2011 His current interest is to marry the currently practiced matter science medical discipline with the more contemporary energy science medical discipline He is also engaged in speaking about the model of healing that he is espousing
He was trained in the allopathic medical tradition graduating from the University of Nebraska but in the last 20 years has actively integrated the energy science of Ayurveda into his practice He is married to Diana and they have three children((Sami, Katie, and Cooper)) and five grandchildren(Hannah, Sophie, Landon, Quinn, and Alyssa)
This integration presented many opportunities to enhance what he could offer his patients in terms of medical advice and care It also begun opening up a dialogue with the patients he cares for about prevention of disease Currently he does online consulting for those interested in looking at health in a new way as well as managing those with IBS, IC, vulvodynia, fibromylagia, and chronic prostatitis He also is teaching Ayurveda as a healing discipline at Bastyr University in Seattle
Says Dr Bill, "We don't have a disease prevention system presently, only a disease detection and treatment program We can have more if we are willing to change the biological model"
Recently he finished a two year energy science fellowship at the widely respected Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque NM Outside of India the Institute is considered the Harvard of Ayurvedic medicine in the world
Dr Bill was the first to coin the terms matter science medicine/nutrition and energy science medicine /nutrition and using nutrition as a platform, he outlines the salient differences between these contrasting healing disciplines This has led to his first book explaining Ayurveda as an energy science, Foods Heal: Why Certain Foods Help YOU Feel Your Best
In 2014 he released his second book IC Bladder Pain Syndrome: The Alternative Medical Treatment for Interstitial Cystitis on the clinical use of the energy science in managing interstitial cystitis, a condition that the allopathic tradition has no solutions for management
