New Definition of Health

A new definition of health implies that we have had one in the past and that is arguable. If there has been one from a matter science viewpoint, I guess a state of health has meant that we are free of disease. But that is an antiquated definition from a contemporary view which is born of a marriage between the matter and energy medical sciences.

I would propose that there is more to health than being free of dis-ease.
One who is established in witnessing, whose energy patterns

are in balance, whose appetite is balanced, whose tissues are

functioning normally, whose wastes are eliminated properly,

and whose self, mind, and senses remain full of bliss

is called a healthy person.

This is a complete definition of health gleaned from the writings of the energy medical science of Ayurveda.

Please Release Me, Let Me Go

Have you ever been so tired that it was not possible for you to stay awake? The mindbody craved sleep so much that you as a mind had no choice but to fall asleep. And in the end it was a very natural process that you experience every day when falling asleep.  The mindbody just does it, very naturally.

The same can be true for any healing process in the mindbody. When we let go and do not interfere with the process, the mindbody just naturally does it. The key is that we have to get out of the way, that is, the mind has to let go.

What does this look like energetically? If we have too much of the hot vibrational frequency then the mindbody's natural inclination in seeking balance of hot and cold is to want to release this hot quality. It does so in a number of ways, such as simply feeling hot in the physiology, having a classic tension headache, feeling the sensation of heart-burn with acid indigestion, or having a temper outburst.

We look at these sensations as annoying dis-ease but in reality it is Nature's quality saying, "Please release me, let me out of here because energetically it is not natural for me to be excessively here." It is the mindbody's way of seeking balance.

Petty Tyrants

We have all had the experience of foods producing turmoil, haven't we? Physical distress occurs because of too much food or too much pepperoni on that spicy pizza late at night.

And there is a corresponding psychological turmoil that occurs as well although we may not be so entrained with that aspect of mindbody turbulence. But if we are quiet and observant, we will indeed notice that psychologically there is a change.

But let's extend this turbulence to just the psychological. Being confronted by someone who needs to control whatever we are doing(driving, making decisions, what we are eating)can be oppressive, using their position in the relationship to force their opinion on us. But it's because of their fears and has nothing to do with us. And their rigidity steps in as well when talking with them.

This can lead to turbulence just as well as food, this time more psychological but this time pay attention to the fact that it has physical distress signs as well.

Well meaning loving people in our lives can become so called petty tyrants not knowing that they are acting as such. Their need to control at all costs can become oppressive and lead us to emotional turbulence.

The way out of this for all of us confronted with our petty tyrants is equanimity. No reaction. Balance. Give the tyrant space recognizing no energy will be given to them. Then there is peace and calm in the mindbody physiology                              To good health  DrBill

What’s the Opportunity?

Here I am with bronchitis, headache and chills. Hmmm does the nutritional stuff work? Is it supposed to keep me healthy? Or can I get sick even if I seem to be doing things energetically correct?

Two things come to mind. Don't do a juice fast during the winter months. Maybe this is a release.

But the real value is that I get to feel poorly which makes feeling good even better!

The Universal Taster

When I review the nutritional information with patients in the office they are taken aback that there is a No column for foods, that is, some foods shouldn't be consumed.

From an energy view, certain mindbody energy physiologies become aggravated due to the imbalancing vibrational frequencies. For example, the dry and rough primordial vibratory frequencies will aggravate thin Vata Pitta energy patterns, so raw foods would produce imbalance.

On the other hand, a strong heavy Kapha would be aggravated by the sweet taste found in dairy and fatty meats and nuts. This leaves energetically light foods to balance the nutritional intake.

Soooo the truth is that not all foods are available to our universal taster. Our taster should be reined in according to our mindbody energy pattern. Sorry to say but energetically true!
