Microscopic Nutrition

I just read a NY Times article on comparing the value of flaxseed oil over natural fish oil giving the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids. There are so many aspects of this debate that often it leaves the consumer numb.

And I would submit confused. What am I supposed to believe? Eventually I throw my hands up in the air and say, "I give. Let me up off the canvas!" And I have been trained and use principles of human biochemistry everyday.

I would call this microscopic nutrition. As the matter science nutritional and medical model have attempted to drill down into the biochemical aspects of apparently "healthy" nutrition, we have as consumers been drawn to read, assimilate, and absorb nutritional theory that has less and less to do with our overall nutritional health.

So I ask, "What's more important, omega 3 fatty acids or a discussion about how to improve digestive fire?"

From an energy science nutritional perspective the answer is digestive fire because without it no one can achieve optimal health. This I would call macroscopic nutrition.

It involves stepping back and seeing the big picture. And I love seeing the overview because of the grandness of it all.

So foodsheal.com can give that big picture view. And what a view it is!
