An Understanding of Optimal Health: An Energy Science Perspective

There have been books recently written about the concept of optimal health  Weil in his title says you can get optimal health in just 8 weeks which I find frankly deceitful  In the 90's Chopra in his initial offerings talked about Perfect Health but in reality was talking about the same thing   But unfortunately as health consumers in the 21st century optimal health occurs for very few on the planet, clearly less than 1% of the present population

Optimal Health From an Energy Science Viewpoint

Flying KiteYou see, if a person is overweight and loses the weight, he or she is said to be healthier than they were when they were overweight  From a measurement or matter science point of view that is indeed the case

But from an energy science perspective the same imbalance that created the overweight condition is still present explaining the observed high rate of gaining the weight back again  The imbalance has not been corrected

From an energy science or  qualittative view health moves from gross(overweight) to a more refined subtle energy state(normal weight)  So the journey to health requires a refined process moving from gross observable levels to more subtle levels

New Definition of Health

The energy science of Ayurveda has a definition of health:

One who is established in witnessing, whose energy patterns

are in balance, whose appetite is balanced, whose tissues are

functioning normally, whose wastes are eliminated properly,

and whose self, mind, and senses remain full of bliss

                                                                     is called a healthy person

You can see by this definition that the energy science requires much more to say that optimal health is possible......not to say that it cannot happen but that it requires work on our part to reach this state

One can see also that it requires movement from the gross measurable areas to the more subtle realms  Unfortunately very few people want to move in this direction today simply because it requires work, dedication, and perseverance  We live in the dark ages and our thinking has lost clarity and is dark itself

And of course there is denial and laying off on the challenge with some saying life is as good as it's going to get  But let's not fool and delude ourselves into a passive state of saying "Everything's just great!"  Because it isn't
